The X is equipped to meet the challenge and grow with you. We wanted simplicity but reliability which is why you have a 38t narrow-wide chainring matched with the Advent X 11-48t 10-speed cassette. This gives you the advantage when taking on hills so you feel confident and ready for more. The X is equipped with a full carbon fork which saves weight and offers vibration dampening. The Flatbar X gives you a more upright position but it still retains some of it's sporty responsiveness that you crave for the roads less traveled. The barrier to discovery and adventure has been lowered so that you can see places you never thought you would before. Whether it is the dirt, the gravel, or the road, The Poseidon X is ready for the adventure.

Why Flatbar?

If you have never ridden a dropbar handlebar bike or never ridden one in dirt then a flatbar may be a good option for you. It's the handlebar position you have likely known how to ride with for as long as you have been riding.

Being in a familiar riding position gives you confidence in steering and balancing. The shifting is all done with your thumb so you can maintain two fingers on the brake levers for those sudden stops.

With the flatbar you are able to fit bags and racks onto the handlebars without worrying about interfering with the handlebars themselves. Or you can leave the bags at home and ride those trails like a rigid mountain bike.

FLATBAR X is a keeper

I really have enjoyed the bike, a couple of tweaks here and there, and off we go. Very easy to assemble. I’m really happy with the quality and features of the bike especially the price.

Entry level bike

I wrote this review after 100+ miles spent on the bike on road/Heavy gravel use.

I am a BMX rider that wanted an easy to ride yet competitive bike on trails with a lot of gravel riding. That said after taking the bike to my local shop for beyond my knowledge at the time adjustments (slack on shifter and disc brakes) it's up and running beautifully.

It's a fun easy to ride bike that really eats up the gravel and certainly rhe pavement. Really nice balance with an ease of acceleration through thr gears which shift flawlessly both and and down as needed. Does great on hills and you can really get up to a nice crusimg speed and maintain it comfortably.
My only criticisms of the bike are those that you may expect I feel from an out of the box performer yet are small things such as I changed the seat and pedals immediately. The brakes themselves i may upgrade later on. But what matters Posideon really nailed in the quality and functionality.

In all great bike which I enjoy a ton!

Flatbar X one month review.

No complaints. Everything I expected and more.

Love my Flatbar X

I got my new Flatbar X a couple months ago and love it. It arrived in a box that had been opened in transit, probably by someone looking for a flat screen TV, but it was all there. The assembly was easy. I put it thru its paces up on my bike stand and noticed that the chain came off the large rear sprocket in low gear, so I adjusted the derailleur's low set screw and fixed it. The chain rubbed on the derailleur in low gear, and the front brake rotor was clearly bent and rubbed. I contacted Poseidon and sent their tech pics and a video of the problems, and he quickly sent me replacement parts, which I installed. Problems fixed. I replaced the saddle with one from my old bike which is more comfortable, and used a hack saw to shorten the handlebars by 40 mm at each end, and now it's perfect for me. I'm 6' tall 185 lb, and bike size L is just right. It's surprisingly light for its size, which I like. It rides well on pavement and my local dirt roads, and handles the pot holes pretty well when I don't go around them, but slips sideways uncomfortably in loose sand. Maybe I'll replace the 35 mm tires with 40 mm ones some day. To go larger, I'll need new rims, so $$$. The low gear is great for climbing the steep hills where I live, and the high gear is plenty for the speeds I ride at (seldom above 15 mph). Shifting is easy, precise, and reliable, and no problem with the jumps between gear speeds. I added a couple standard accessories, and appreciated the many mounting options for them.
